Nobeoka Chocolatier was developed out of a desire to play with textured, high-contrast backgrounds on paper packaging. I decided on an organic speciality dark chocolate brand as this would give me the adequate room to develop darker tones. For these ‘Maca Magic’ packaging designs, I produced a background with my iPad that gave the product a sense of premium mystery.

With Nobeoka, I wanted to combine a deep love of Japanese food products with the aesthetic of a refined organic cacao brand. I wanted to echo deep, dark flavours that complemented the dark chocolate tones.”
